Episode 200 – Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA with Broken Bells

What’s going on here? New for 2010. I’ve split the beer reviews and music reviews into 2 separate videos. Treat it as one show with 2 segments. Hopefully this provides more clarity and a better overall experience. New site design changes in the coming weeks will make things easier to find too. Enjoy. –@schneidermike

Our company went to the Harpoon Brewery to take in the 5:30 club experience. Appearing are Graham “Thirsty Chicken” Nelson, Amy Moriarty and Allen & Gerritsen’s CEO (and martini man) Andrew Graff.

The treat was talking to Jules the bartender. He is highly knowledgeable about the products and process.

The best part is how I talk about not talking about the finish, right after I talk about the finish. What I meant is that I do not refer to a finish as “lingering, crisp, sweet or dry”. I use language that you and I care about, not beerspeak that no one understands.

We pair Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA with Yo La Tengo’s latest: “Here to Fall” from their upcoming Popular Songs effort. Thanks to @mikelangford from Tweetworks and nomX3 for the suggestion.

Major problems in the Belching Monkey studios make for a weird ending. Delicious Rock Art Brews are not highly complex, but they are a nice entry level craft beer. Dinosaur Jr. is the featured band.
